Mirror, mirror on the wall: Washington’s 0-3 start tests locker room culture for all


LANDOVER, Md. —  Jonathan Allen doesn’t care about anything else besides winning. He has a specific set of standards that he plays by no matter his opponent. Those standards do not ebb or flow. They are not relaxed or more focused depending on who’s coming to town or where Washington is going.

When asked about possibly being a captain this season during the opening days of training camp, the third year vet pointedly said, “If I am put into that position – great – but I am not making it a priority. I’m trying to win games. … I’m tired of losing. I hate losing more than I like winning.”

Allen played all of seven snaps in Washington’s season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles before he sprained his MCL, flung his helmet on the sideline and was relegated to watching his teammates for the remainder of that game and the Dallas Cowboys game the following week.
