Miles Teller to Star in ‘The Godfather’ Making-Of Series, Taking Over Role From Armie Hammer

Miles Teller will play producer Al Ruddy in the upcoming Paramount Plus series “The Offer,” which details the behind the scenes story of the making of “The Godfather.”

Teller takes over the role from Armie Hammer, whose exit from the series was exclusively reported by Variety in January amid sexual misconduct allegations.

Teller will executive produce “The Offer” in addition to starring. He is primarily known for his film work, having previously starred in features such as “Whiplash,” “The Spectacular Now,” “Bleed for This,” and “Only the Brave.” He is also set to star in upcoming films such as “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Spiderhead.” On the TV side, Teller starred in “Too Old to Die Young” at Amazon, which was directed and co-created by Nicolas Winding Refn.

He is repped by CAA and Goodman Genow.

“The Offer” will tell the story of Ruddy’s experience as a producer on “The Godfather” back in 1972. Paramount Plus has given the limited series a 10-episode order.

Nikki Toscano and Michael Toklin co-wrote and executive produce, with Toscano also serving as showrunner. Dexter Fletcher is attached to direct the first and last block of episodes in addition to executive producing the series along with Leslie Greif, Ruddy, and Teller. Paramount Television Studios will produce.

“The Offer” was first announced as being in the works at Paramount Plus when ViacomCBS revealed they were rebranding the streamer CBS All Access. Other shows announced since then include series adaptations of films like “The Italian Job” and “Love Story,” as well as multiple shows from Taylor Sheridan under his rich overall deal with ViacomCBS.
