Mike Trout to miss 6 to 8 weeks with calf strain, a brutal blow for the Angels

A strange season for the Angels just got even more surreal. On Tuesday, the team announced that superstar centerfielder Mike Trout will miss six to eight weeks with a grade two strain of his right calf.

Trout injured himself on a weird play in the first inning of Monday night’s 7-4 win over Cleveland. After walking in his at-bat, he took second on a wild pitch. Then with two outs, Jared Walsh popped the ball up to shortstop to end the inning. Trout, who wasn’t running hard to third base, stopped once he got to the bag. Then he walked directly back to the dugout with a noticeable limp.
