Michail Antonio has put himself up for another FIFA 20 challenge – this time to help encourage West Ham supporting youngsters while they are cooped up at home.

Hammers star Antonio was this week forced to wear a Tottenham shirt after losing a match on the popular computer game to Spurs’s Ryan Sessegnon, when the two players simulated the match that was due to take place between the clubs last Friday.

Undeterred, Antonio is now primed to face one of the club’s young fans as a game against the winger is the prize in their newly-launched Young Hammers at Home initiative which follows the unveiling of their Hammers At Home campaign this week.

With most children now studying at home following the closure of schools due to the coronavirus, West Ham will set their supporters daily challenges to provide them some entertainment, light relief and also motivation to complete their schoolwork.

Antonio launched the first in the series on Friday, asking young Hammers to show their best piece of school work or PE activity that they have completed in the last week and submit their entries via social media using the hashtag #HammersAtHome or email to hammerschallenges@westhamunited.co.uk.

Fans have until 3pm on Saturday, March 28, to get their entries in. They will be judged by Antonio and the winner will face him in a virtual head-to-head.

Future challenges will be announced on West Ham’s website and social media channels at 11am every weekday during school term time and each one will be set and judged by a different player or member of club staff and come with a different prize for the winner.

Antonio said: ‘Many of us are parents and we want to support the tremendous effort of our teachers, parents and carers at this time by giving children daily challenges to keep their minds and bodies occupied.

‘At this time, it is important that we continue to stick together and support one another in any way we can so I made my challenge a nice intro into the challenges ahead.’

‘A lot of the lads and staff here have kids at home too and we’re all looking for the best ideas to stay on top of their learning and hoping we can support with a few ideas too.’
