Mercedes Offers Usual Accessories For New EQC, Its First EV

It’s not a Mercedes until it has some expensive branded doo-dad to go along with it. And that means the new Mercedes-Benz EQC, the first all-electric vehicle from the three-pointed star company, is without a doubt a real Mercedes.

Today, the company announced that it would be offering “a wide range of accessory products” for the EQC to customize the EV just the way buyers will like it. That means the company will offer things like a Mercedes-Benz Golf stand bag by Cobra, bike racks in back or on the roof, a KIDFIX XP child seat, a branded drawstring sports bag and not one nor two but three sizes of dog cushions made by MiaCara that fit in the rear cargo space.

The EQC already has a lot of cargo space – 500 liters, in the European spec – and so the roof rack was designed specifically for the electric CUV. The two customized aluminum carrier bars can be configured to hold a roof box that can carry up to an extra 450 liters of cargo. Up to five bikes can be put up on top or carried using the rear hitch. Mercedes recommends “bikes designed by FOCUS for Mercedes-Benz” of course.

Other EQC accessories include the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox Home, which is a home charger that can power up the EV at up to 22 kW. If you’ve got two EQCs, then the Wallbox Twin can charge them both up at 11 kW.

Mercedes hasn’t forgotten about the little ones, offering both a sunbeam yellow Bobby-AMG GT toy car (for the kids to “do a few laps in the garage in complete safety … while the vehicle is charging”) and the aforementioned KIDFIX XP child seat with ISOFIT ECE for children between three-and-a-half and 12 years of age (or 15 to 36 kilograms, 33 to 79 pounds).

As the EQC is not yet available in the U.S., we don’t have U.S. prices for all of these accessories. But some of them are already available for other vehicles, like the Cobra golf stand bag which costs $381.00, or the Mercedes-AMG GT S children’s ride-on car with LED lights, which costs $213.00.

Oh, and the bog cushions range in size from 80 x 60 x 17 cm (31 x 23 x 7 inches) to 120 x 90 x 25 cm (47 x 35 x 10 inches). Dogs of all sizes should enjoy that.
