This bird is probably more stylish than you.

Buddy the rescue pigeon loves choosing his specially made ‘pants’ every day from his bespoke wardrobe.

The creature currently owns six pairs of adorable trousers – all designed and handmade by artist Anastassia Fulmer.

These garments carefully wrap around his body and hook over his wings, which means he can fly around his owner’s home without having to worry about ‘sanitary issues.’

The former racing pigeon suffered an injury to his wing during a race, which has left him with a permanent disability and limited flight. As a result, he now lives with 32-year-old Caitlyn Polyak-Roach.

And it seems the mum-of-two has no plans to stop adding to her pet’s clothes collection – so far she’s spent around £140 on his ensembles.

She even made the animal’s miniature wicker wardrobe herself, using the lid of an old basket, a wooden dowel and some shower curtain hooks – so Buddy can root around and choose his outfits.

Caitlyn adds that the bird’s pants give him the freedom to go where he likes.

This means Buddy can fly about his home, sit on the sofa watching TV with the family and even visit the pet shop and garden centre without getting told off for ‘pooping everywhere.’

Owner Caitlyn, from Michigan, said: ‘Pants allow Buddy the freedom to roam the house with us, sit on the couch with us, and even travel around town with us.

‘He loves being out of his enclosure. He loves car rides and hiking in the woods and going places where he can see new and interesting things.

‘He’s a pretty smart bird – pigeons in general are far more intelligent than people give them credit for.

‘And he seems to understand that wearing the pants means getting to go to the fun places so he never minds wearing them.

‘Plus, I think he enjoys the attention people give him when they notice his pants.’

Caitlyn says her loveable pet needs his pants because he’s not toilet trained – something that’s a controversial topic amongst bird owners.

She explains: ‘I don’t believe it is healthy to toilet train birds simply because of their own biology and the risks associated with “holding it in.”

‘If Buddy was fully flighted and was able to live in a large outdoor aviary with other pigeons then this would not be an issue.

‘But because pigeons are social creatures and Buddy’s “flock” is humans in a house, he needs a way to be able to engage with us freely inside our home without the sanitation issue of poop everywhere.’
