Mashup Wizard amorphous Just Debuted a New Song with Fat Joe

The internet’s favorite mashup artist, 23-year-old producer amorphous, has teamed up with rapper Fat Joe to debut a new single titled “Sunshine.”

The track features amorphous’ wildly popular alchemy of Rihanna’s “Kiss it Better” and Luther Vandross’s “Never Too Much.” Since posting the classic-meets-contemporary track to Twitter in late November, it has garnered over 2 million views and received praise from industry heavyweights from MC Hammer to Dr. Dre, to Oprah. Legendary MC LL Cool J even reportedly featured the mashup on his SiriusXM radio show, Rock the Bells.

Since setting the internet ablaze, the track apparently wowed Fat Joe, who only yesterday announced that he’d be dropping a single rapping over the mix. The producer took to Twitter to express his joy. “I AM LITERALLY IN TEARS,” he wrote. “This is so surreal.”

“Sunshine” is just the latest standout moment for the artist, also known as Jimir Reese Davis. Some of his other celebrated mashups include unions of Megan Thee Stallion and Travis Porter, Lizzo and Destiny’s Child, and Ariana Grande and Ciara, among others.

In late December, them. sat down with the rising star to learn what inspires his cross-generational style. “I’m aware of those who have come before me and paved the way, so I want to give them their flowers while they are still here,” he said.

According to amorphous’s personal Twitter page, the new track should be hitting streaming services as soon as tonight.
