Man Utd: Cavani and Van De Beek out of Real Sociedad game

Who else will be missing?

Paul Pogba remains out with a thigh injury.

Solskjaer warned that the France international would not be available until March at the earliest, meaning he will definitely miss both legs against La Real as well as league games against Newcastle and Chelsea. The Manchester derby is United’s first game of next month, currently scheduled for Saturday, March 6.

Who is a doubt for the game?

Martial and McTominay are doubtful and will be assessed ahead of Thursday’s game.

What did Solskjaer say?

Ahead of the match — which has been moved from Spain to Italy due to COVID-19 regulations — Solskjaer said: “Paul (Pogba) is recovering well, he’s starting his treatment. He’s still a few weeks away — he won’t be playing in February, that’s for sure.”

“Apart from that a couple of them are doubtful. Anthony (Martial) and Scott (McTominay) — we will have to check them tomorrow.

“Donny (van de Beek) and Edinson (Cavani) are definitely not travelling. They have muscle injuries so they won’t travel with us.”
