SADDLE BROOK, NJ. — Malt Products Corp., a manufacturer of malted barley extract and other natural sweeteners, reported a surge in demand for its OatRite oat extract as a sweetener for oat milk products.
The spike in interest is fueled by a nationwide boom in oat milk combined with increased consumer interest in pantry-friendly food labels featuring non-GMO, plant-based and multi-functional ingredients, the company said.
OatRite extracts are made from whole grain oats that are minimally processed to create a syrup with a mild sweetness and oat taste. Naturally high in protein, minerals, soluble fiber and antioxidants, the clean label sweeteners offer functional benefits, including improved texture and extended shelf life, Malt Products Corp. said.
