Magic coach Steve Clifford cleared to return from health and safety protocols

Orlando Magic coach Steve Clifford has been cleared to return from health and safety protocols and will return to the sideline for Wednesday’s game against the Boston Celtics, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Clifford tested positive for COVID-19 on April 22 and will miss his sixth consecutive game on Monday when the Magic take on the Detroit Pistons.

The 59-year-old has received both doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine but is not yet considered fully vaccinated by the CDC because two weeks have not passed since his second shot.

Magic assistant Tyrone Corbin has filled in during Clifford’s absence, leading the team to a 2-3 record.
