Loyal dog saves tipsy owner from falling and puts her in bed

We’ve all been a bit tipsy and unsteady on our feet before. But not all of us had the advantage of a dog like Jax.

After heading to bed after a night-out and a few drinks in Eagle Grove, Iowa, tipsy Hannah Quintus, 22 began removing some toys from her bed.

Thankfully her two-year-old golden retriever Jax saw that she was about to take a harsh tumble, potentially hitting her head on shelves.

Jax jumped up onto his back legs and gently guided her to an upright position, eventually popping her on the bed safely.

Hannah said: ‘Looking back at the footage I was kind of embarrassed but I just thought it was really amazing and funny.

‘I’ve had Jax since he was seven weeks old and he’s the best thing that has ever happened to me.

‘I love him with everything that I am and he is so spoiled and loved by everyone else as well.’

It’s a far cry from Samuel the cocker spaniel, who has been named the UK’s most destructive dog after knocking a can of blue paint down his owner’s stairs.

In second place was three-year-old Pomeranian Bella who went on a rampage and left owner Kelly McIntyre’s pillow in tatters and her walls needing significant repairs.

Basically, while all pets are deserving of love and care, some give it back a little more than others.

Jax isn’t specially trained as a service dog, but had the innate instinct to protect Hannah, and saved her a (potentially costly given they’re in the US) trip to A&E.
