Loss to Titans revealing: Ravens aren’t a very good football team right now


A.J. Brown should have been tackled about five yards short of the first down. That would have given the Ravens a chance to stop the Tennessee Titans on fourth-and-5 to preserve a 5-point lead with around two minutes to go. The Ravens defense lives for situations like that, at least they typically do.

But Brown, who caught the ball at the 9-yard line, first spun out of a Chuck Clark tackle attempt. Then, he ran through Marcus Peters’ arm tackle. He made Marlon Humphrey whiff and then Brown put Patrick Queen on skates and drove him about three yards into the end zone.

“That team looked like it wanted it more,” Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said, a damning statement that was later supported by rookie running back J.K. Dobbins.

Fittingly, it was Derrick Henry who put away the Ravens, just as he did in January’s shocking playoff loss. His 29-yard touchdown run in overtime pushed the Titans to a hard-earned 30-24 victory at M&T Bank…
