Lil Nas X Sent Pizza to Anti-Gay Protesters Outside His Concert

Over the course of his career, Lil Nas X has had to swat away homophobic critics many, many times, and had fun doing it all the while. Now, in yet another example of out-trolling his trolls, the “Industry Baby” rapper sent pizza to a handful of homophobic protestors outside his Boston concert last Sunday.

On the night of his concert, the meme king quote-retweeted a video of the protesters holding signs with sayings like “Repent and believe” and the thoroughly confounding “Jesus Is God even demons know it” (do said demons include Lil Nas X’s “Satan Shoes”? I have questions).

“Just told my team to send them pizza, this is really good promo!” Lil Nas X tweeted.

He also retweeted a fan’s quote-tweet of the video, which read: “That’s not protesting, that’s just who Lil Nas X got to open for him before his performance.”

As if that weren’t enough, the Grammy winner checked in with his followers a few hours later with an unexpected development. “Update: they didn’t want the pizza but I accidentally fell in love with one of the homophobic protestors,” he wrote. In the accompanying video, he focuses on one particular bearded protester while Sufjan Stevens’ song “Mystery of Love” tenderly plays in the background.
