Liberty, head coach Hugh Freeze agree to new contract through 2028 season: Source

Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze has agreed to a new contract through 2028 that will pay him an average of more than $4 million per year, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic. ESPN first reported the news. A formal announcement is expected later on Wednesday.

Freeze is 25-10 at Liberty, his third head coaching stop after stints at Arkansas State and Ole Miss. The Flames went 10-1 and finished No. 17 in the AP Top 25 last year and have followed that up with a 7-4 campaign in 2021.
