The queens must have taken the words in the RuPaul’s Drag Race theme song to heart, because not only have they started their engines, they’ve revved them, let ‘em rip, and Tokyo Drifted their way into our hearts. Yes, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7 has begun with two — count ‘em, two! — episodes released on Paramount+ Friday, both of which already have us screaming, hooting and hollering.
The first episode sees the queens meeting Naomi Campbell, getting a runway evaluation, and writing their own original verses to RuPaul’s track “Legendary,” while the second episode has two — count ‘em, two! — Snatch Games. Though it’s still early in the competition, some queens have pulled into the lead, and it’s time to keep track of who’s on top with Them’s weekly power rankings.
Just an overview of how the competition will work this time around: this season, no queens will be eliminated. In each episode, RuPaul will name two queens as the challenge winners, each of whom will be awarded a Legendary Legend star (if they haven’t been blocked, more on that later). They will then lip sync for a cash prize and the power to block one queen from getting a star the next week by handing them a — wait for it — platinum plunger. And, of course, if that queen has a plunger, then she can win a challenge but will not be able to garner a Legendary Legend star from her win.
