‘Manchester United transfer was just talk’: Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic insists he never wanted to leave for Old Trafford
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic insisted there was nothing in the links to Manchester United this summer.
Speaking to Sport Plus, Milinkovic-Savic said: ‘I never said I wanted to leave Lazio, I feel good here.
‘I never mentioned a possible transfer to Manchester United and it was just paper talk. New commitments await me with Lazio.’

Paris Saint-Germain were also reportedly interested but it looks as though Milinkovic-Savic will sign a new contract with Lazio.
Milinkovic-Savic’s agent was reportedly in London last month which sparked rumours about a potential transfer to the Red Devils.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito wanted €100million (£90million) for the midfielder, but United were reportedly only willing to offer €80million (£72million).
Milinkovic-Savic extended his deal at Lazio until 2023 just last year but Lotito conceded in recent weeks that it may be hard to keep hold of the 24-year-old.
‘Last year I managed to reject the assaults,’ said Lotito, ‘this year we could propose a matter of respect if the player were to propose a different solution.’
United were reportedly attempting to line up the deal in the event that Paul Pogba left the club this summer.
Pogba has been Zinedine Zidane’s no 1 target this summer, despite already spending big in the transfer window so far.
