Latest concoction by UC recruiting brings prospects ‘inside’ Nippert on gameday


CINCINNATI — The Bearcats can’t bring recruits to Nippert Stadium on game day (or any day) this season due to COVID-19 restrictions. So instead, they decided to bring game day at Nippert to the recruits.

From the minds that brought you the Midnight Pounce recruiting blitz — and also quarantined together in a Skyline-fueled guest house — the latest concoction of the Cincinnati football recruiting department is CinCityPride Corner. It was on full exhibit inside and outside Nippert prior to the Bearcats’ 24-10 victory over No. 22 Army on Saturday, with the recruiting staff essentially hosting a pregame visit for prospects, broadcast on Instagram Live.

Set up in the northeast corner of the stadium, near the player-entrance stairway, were two massive flatscreen televisions, an iPad and a red shag carpet receiving the roped-off treatment. Recruiting coordinator and host Chad Bowden was dressed appropriately, sporting a bright red suit…
