According to Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli, the Seattle Kraken did not select star forward Vladimir Tarasenko in the expansion draft.
The news comes a week after The Athletic’s Jeremy Rutherford reported that the Russian scoring star had requested a trade from the Blues. Taraseknko is currently the second-longest tenured member on the Blues roster behind only Jaden Schwartz, having been drafted 16th overall by the organization in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Tarasenko, who currently has two seasons left at $7.5 million, has been limited to just 34 games over the past two seasons after multiple shoulder surgeries. When healthy, Tarasenko has been a 65-plus-point scorer with the Blues and was an important piece in the team’s run to the Stanley Cup in 2019.
Seravalli reported that the Kraken is expected to announce that Vince Dunn will be the team’s selection from St. Louis.
