It’s always hard to gauge the tone of a tweet, but you could almost feel the pain in Vince Marrow’s voice from a single post April 9.
It was shortly after Gavin Wimsatt of Owensboro (Ky.) High, the No. 89 overall player and the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class in the 247Sports Composite, committed to Rutgers. Marrow, Kentucky’s recruiting coordinator, knew how important it was for his program to land the in-state star quarterback and, perhaps more importantly, how crushing it was to loyal Kentucky fans who have remained hopeful that Mark Stoops can win at the highest level.
