Keurig Dr Pepper, Nestle launch Starbucks K-Cup partnership

PLANO, TEXAS — Keurig Dr Pepper, Inc. has entered into a long-term agreement with Nestle USA to manufacture and distribute Starbucks branded packaged coffee K-Cup pods in the United States and Canada.

The agreement with Nestle, which acquired the rights to market and distribute Starbucks consumer packaged goods and food service products in August 2018, replaced the existing K-Cup pod agreement between Keurig Dr Pepper and Starbucks. Financial terms of the new agreement were not disclosed.

“Today’s announcement with Nestle recognizes the success of the Keurig and Starbucks strategic relationship, which dates back to 2011,” said Derek Hopkins, chief commercial officer at Keurig Dr Pepper. “It also underscores the mutually-beneficial nature of that partnership and the significant, untapped opportunities that still exist for the single serve coffee category in North America.”
