Kemba Walker already back working out on bike, weights after scary neck injury

Kemba Walker seems very fortunate after suffering a terrifying injury Friday.

Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens said on Sunday that the All-Star guard did not practice but went through a series of progressions on the bike and in the weight room, per Tim Bontemps of ESPN. Stevens also added though that the team wanted to be extra cautious with Walker, who is listed as doubtful for Monday against the Sacramento Kings.

Walker had to be stretchered off in Friday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets after injuring his head and neck on a scary collision with teammate Semi Ojeleye. He was originally diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms, an injury that was updated to a sprained neck.

All told, this has to be a best-case scenario for Walker and the Celtics, who can afford to be conservative with their stellar 11-4 record on the season.
