Karl-Anthony Towns lost his mom Jackie Cruz-Towns to COVID-19 complications back in April, and the Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star opened up about the painful experience, including having to make the decision to “pull the plug” after she had a stroke that doctors felt gave her “no way for meaningful life.”

Fortunately, in her last few hours, Towns says that she was able to spend time remotely with family members and friends, telling stories and even having a few laughs.

“She was sent off with laughter,” an emotional Towns said.
