Justin Herbert has Broncos prepping for first new Chargers QB in 15 years


Don’t let the dizzying churn of quarterbacks in Denver fool you. The AFC West is the NFL’s modern home of QB stability.

From 2014 to 2019, Denver played 36 combined games against its three division rivals and faced just five different starting quarterbacks, tied for the fewest faced by any NFL team within its division during that span. And one of those five opposing starters against the Broncos was Matt McGloin, who was under center for the Raiders during a meaningless Week 17 game at the end of the 2016 season. For context, former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady dueled against 14 different AFC East starting quarterbacks during that same stretch, including half a dozen different Jets signal-callers alone.
