Jose Mourinho has refused to comment on speculation that Roma are interested in signing Manchester United‘s Diogo Dalot in the January transfer window.

The Portuguese coach joined Roma in the summer and has started well in Serie A, winning three times from four matches.

Ahead of Roma’s match with Udinese on Thursday, Mourinho was asked whether he would give any insight into the club’s future transfer plans.

The question was raised after there were reports from Calciomercato that the Giallorossi would like to sign a central midfielder and a full-back.

Mourinho is reportedly interested in signing Dalot from his former club, however the Roma boss was not prepared to entertain any questions regarding transfers.

He said: ‘The transfer window is closed, you want to put me in the condition to talk, but I am not going to do it.

‘I analyse situations, but I can’t share all my thoughts with you. I do not enter these dynamics.’

The Roma boss signed Dalot in his final transfer window with Manchester United yet the defender was unable to gain a regular spot in the starting eleven.

Dalot was on-loan at AC Milan last season but Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to keep him at the club this season.

However, the Portuguese full-back is still behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka and has only appeared once off the bench in the Premier League.

Dalot will be looking to impress as he is set to get more opportunities in the team as United enter more cup competitions and due to Wan-Bissaka’s suspension in the Champions League.

If the defender is unable to take his chances at United, he will undoubtedly be linked with a move away from the club in January.
