Jordan Spieth drops out of Top 50 in world ranking for first time since 2013

After finishing T55 at last week’s Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, Jordan Spieth is now ranked No. 51 in the world, marking the first time he’s been ranked outside of the Top 50 since August of 2013.

The 26-year-old has 11 career Tour wins on his resume, including three major championships.

Just a few short years ago, Spieth was the game’s No. 1-ranked player, a title he held for weeks at a time between 2015 and 2016, and he remained ranked in the Top 10 through October of 2018, at which point he began his slow decline.

Spieth has been winless on Tour since his epic triumph at the 2017 Open Championship. While he had a few bright stretches in 2019 — three top-7 finishes in a row in May and June, including a T3 at the PGA Championship — Spieth didn’t make it past last year’s BMW Championship in the FedEx Cup, and hasn’t finished better than T43 in his last three official Tour starts.
