LeBron and Bronny James made history as the first father and son to play in a NBA game together when the LA Lakers hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 22, and now the jerseys they wore in that game are on the auction block.
Made available through the NBA’s partnership with Sotheby’s, the two Lakers jerseys are being sold as a pair in an auction that began on Thursday. By Thursday night, the jerseys had already drawn 34 bids, with the price up to $70,000. LeBron’s jersey was photomatched to the Lakers’ 110-103 win to the Timberwolves to begin the 2024-25 season, in when he played 34 minutes, scored 16 points and had five rebounds and four assists. It was also matched to two preseason games and the jersey he wore during NBA media day.
Sotheby’s says the Bronny jersey was worn during the second half of the Oct. 22 game, in which he played two minutes, went 0/2 from the field and secured one rebound, though it could not be photomatched “due to a lack of media of Bronny without a warm-up jacket on.” It was photomatched to four preseason games and NBA media day, however.
Bronny James’ NBA Summer League debut jersey was sold by Sotheby’s in September for $38,400 — far more than the jerseys of the top picks in the 2024 draft. Bronny was the Lakers’ second-round pick and is currently playing home games for the franchise’s G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.
