It’s a numbers game so which NBA team wins a Sudoku challenge?


Remaining sharp, especially when we’re bogged down in unprecedented circumstances, is really tough. Finding ways to keep your brain active without getting dragged down in the malaise of the pandemic and everything else going on is challenging. Some people do that with word games like a crossword puzzle. Other people like the bright lights and glitz and glamour of something like Candy Crush.

Sports are numbers games though. Basketball is a numbers game. And the best way to keep your mind sharp in a numbers game isn’t with words or fake jewels. It’s with numbers!

We took a little inspiration from our NHL counterparts here at The Athletic and asked a few of our NBA beat writers to form their team’s best historic rotations by using a 1-9 Sudoku number option, and we added the number zero. Each jersey number can only be used once through the rotation, meaning no duplicates allowed. For example, if you’re looking for an all-time Chicago Bulls…
