IOWA CITY, Iowa — In the two previous Big Ten 2020 schedules, Iowa’s path to Indianapolis was littered with orange cones and potholes while chief rival Wisconsin’s route was smooth and unencumbered.

The third and final version unveiled Saturday promised a more balanced cross-divisional schedule between the two West Division contenders. From the Big Ten’s original nine-game schedule, the Hawkeyes dropped a trip to Ohio State while the Badgers subtracted a flight to Maryland. In the East, Iowa will play host to Michigan State and travel to Penn State. Wisconsin hosts Indiana and flies to Michigan.

In the final 2020 eight-game version of the schedule, Iowa’s eight opponents had a 36-36 record in league action while Wisconsin’s eight foes were 35-37.
