England hope that changing their training base from St Georges’ Park to the Tottenham practice grounds will help lift spirits after their Euro 2020 draw with Scotland, according to reports.

The Three Lions suffered a disappointing goalless draw with Steve Clarke’s side on Friday night at Wembley which denied England the chance of qualifying for the last-16 stage.

Manager Gareth Southgate will need to pick his players up quickly when the Czech Republic come to north west London on Tuesday night for the final group game that will decide the qualifying teams from the group.

And according to the Sunday Mirror, the Three Lions players moved into Spurs’ Myddelton Lodge after the goalless draw on Friday night with the hope that it could lead to a change in mood after the disappointment of the Scotland game.

A source told the newspaper: ‘The game against Scotland was obviously a washout – but the team hope they have still got it all to play for.

‘It’s still entirely in England’s hands and the backroom staff hope a change of scenery at Spurs’ training ground will help lift their spirits.’

The Myddelton Lodge was made three years ago and the training base is not open to the public, with the accommodation only available to elite teams for their preparation camps.

The complex has 40 rooms with a 100 per cent noise cancellation system installed in each one. The TVs in each room face the sofas and not the bed so players are not kept up at night.

The beds in each room are fitted with mattresses designed to maximise sleep, while the lighting also changes temperature due to the time of day.

The training base comes with a plush gym with massage beds, a yoga gym, spa, an altitude chamber and a doctor’s surgery, while the upper-floor Myddelton Suite will be used by manager Gareth Southgate, who will have his own quarters and tactical meeting area.

The Lodge also has a cinema screen with games consoles, a fire pit and an Argentinian barbecue, while there are sun loungers and bean bags in the communal garden area.

The training base was used by Brazil ahead of the 2018 World Cup, with the South American side going all the way to the quarter-finals before losing to Belgium over in Russia.

England were pictured getting straight back into their preparations for the Czech Republic clash at the Tottenham base on Saturday afternoon.

There were 14 players involved in the outdoor session, with second-half substitute Jack Grealish joining the starting XI for an indoor recovery exercise.

Grealish came on for Phil Foden after 63 minutes, while Marcus Rashford replacing Harry Kane in the 74th minute was the only other substitute, but the Manchester United forward’s cameo was not taxing enough to necessitate a recovery session.

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, who has missed England’s first two games due to an ankle problem, was also involved in the session after being named on the bench for the Scotland match.

England have moved between two training camps since the squad first met for the European Championships this summer.

The players met at the Rockliffe Hotel in Middlesbrough when they played two pre-tournament friendlies in the north east, with the complex now being used by Scotland in their first international tournament in 23 years.

The Three Lions stars then moved down to their regular St Georges’ Park base in Stoke-on-Trent, where they prepared for their first two matches of the tournament.

England know that beating Czech Republic on Tuesday night at Wembley will secure top spot in the group, though are still likely to go through even if they lose.
