Jon Schuster, longtime vice president and general manager at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino, died Wednesday at his home, according to the Shelbyville, Ind. racetrack. He was 61 years old.
A native of Brazil, Ind., Schuster’s passion for racing started at an early age — he was 10 years old when he went to the track for the first time. Schuster launched his career in the business after graduating from the University of Arizona, where he studied in the Race Track Industry Program and earned a B.A.
Schuster served in his capacity at Indiana Grand for 17 years. He is survived by his wife Janie Schuster, his mother Rosemary and four children among others, according to his obituary.
