Sitting on the edge of the Santa Monica Mountains in picturesque Thousand Oaks, California, there’s a good explanation why Tiger Woods and others have been coming back to Sherwood Country Club for decades.

An exclusive club membership that has included Will Smith, Sylvester Stallone, Justin Timberlake, Jack Nicholson, Mel Gibson, Tom Selleck, Jane Seymour and more, certainly adds to Sherwood’s mystique, but at the heart of it all is a breathtaking Jack Nicklaus signature par-72 golf course.
The first made-for-TV live prime-time event — the Showdown at Sherwood — pitted Tiger and David Duval in 1999, and the relationship grew from there. Woods hosted his annual event at Sherwood from 2000-2013.
