Impossible Foods picks Apple exec to lead product management

REDWOOD CITY, CALIF. — Ravi Thakkar has been named to the new position of vice-president of product management at Impossible Foods. In this role, he will build and lead a team of product managers.

Mr. Thakkar joins Impossible Foods from Apple, where he was iPhone product manager in the company’s worldwide product marketing division for more than five years. Before Apple, he spent 10 years in various product leadership roles at Motorola Mobility, a mobile devices company acquired by Google.

“Ravi brings a wealth of product experience and leadership from high-tech companies,” said Sheetal Shah, senior vice-president of product and operations at Impossible Foods. “It is so important that we build a strong product management function as we scale the business, and there’s no one better than Ravi to lead it.”

The appointment of Mr. Thakkar is the third leadership team hire for Impossible Foods this year. Mr. Shah was brought aboard as senior vice-president of product and operations for the company in May, and Dennis Woodside was named president in March.
