‘I’m just gonna shoot my shot’: Redskins seventh-round pick corner Jimmy Moreland brims with confidence


ASHBURN, Va. — Dwayne Haskins lofted a ball up to the right corner of the end zone looking to hit Terry McLaurin for another six-point connection. The former Ohio State teammates had already done it a number of times in front of media and fans on Day 2 of Washington’s rookie minicamp, and this rep was expected to be more of the same.

Defending was Charleston (W.Va.) cornerback Chris Turner, and coming over the top was seventh-round pick Jimmy Moreland. Turner was able to knock the ball away from McLaurin, and had an opportunity to intercept Haskins.
