ASHBURN, Va. — Dwayne Haskins lofted a ball up to the right corner of the end zone looking to hit Terry McLaurin for another six-point connection. The former Ohio State teammates had already done it a number of times in front of media and fans on Day 2 of Washington’s rookie minicamp, and this rep was expected to be more of the same.
Defending was Charleston (W.Va.) cornerback Chris Turner, and coming over the top was seventh-round pick Jimmy Moreland. Turner was able to knock the ball away from McLaurin, and had an opportunity to intercept Haskins. But the rookie free agent dropped the ball, missing his chance to momentarily upstage the burgundy and gold’s first-round pick.
