How will CBS, NBC and ESPN divvy up live PGA Tour coverage in 2022? Here's a look.

On January 1, 2022, a new nine-year domestic media rights deal goes in to place for the PGA Tour that will feature a change to PGA Tour Live and how the FedEx Cup Playoffs are televised each year.

On Tuesday the PGA Tour announced its network and cable schedule for the year, with CBS Sports set to broadcast 20 events and begin network coverage with the Farmers Insurance Open at the end of January, an event which will feature the first scheduled Saturday finish on the PGA Tour since 1996.

NBC Sports remains the Tour’s cable partner, and Golf Channel will carry early-round and lead-in weekend coverage of every FedEx Cup event. In 2022, NBC will carry the entire FedExCup Playoffs. CBS will do the same in 2023.

ESPN+ will debut as the distributor of PGA Tour Live at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, Jan. 6-9, and will carry 35 PGA Tour tournaments.

“We are thrilled to announce our 2022 domestic coverage schedule for the PGA Tour, as the lineup we have in place will ultimately be a significant win for our fans as we expand and innovate our content and its delivery going forward,” said Rick Anderson, the PGA Tour’s chief media officer in a release. “Our existing partners CBS Sports and NBC Sports share our vision for the future and we are equally excited to be teaming with Disney and ESPN+ for what we see as an unparalleled opportunity to grow and diversify our fan base.”
