How Dennis Schroder’s departure from the bubble would affect the Thunder


Dennis Schroder has a unique perspective on the coronavirus.

The Thunder guard’s outlook comes from a couple of viewpoints. The favorite for Sixth Man of the Year had a window into how basketball was able to return and was able to see the German Basketball Bundesliga start play again back in June.

“I think it speaks for Germany,” said Schroder, who became the sole owner of his hometown club Braunschweig in May. Schroder’s team finished 11th in the Bundesliga and didn’t qualify for the playoffs, which resumed in June, but he watched the league from afar. “They’ve done pretty well during the pandemic.”

There’s another layer to Schroder’s venture into the Orlando bubble. His wife, Ellen, is pregnant with the couple’s second child and is due to give birth in the next three to four weeks, according to Schroder.
