Grade 1 Cotillion winner Street Band will be pointed to the G3 Houston Ladies Classic at Sam Houston Race Park on Jan. 26 for her next start, reports bloodhorse.com. The 3-year-old daughter of Istan was most recently eighth in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff.
Street Band returned to Churchill Downs after the Breeders’ Cup, and will ship down to her winter base at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans soon. Trainer and co-owner Larry Jones hopes that the Houston Ladies Classic will set Street Band up for tries in the G2 Azeri and G1 Apple Blossom, both at Oaklawn Park, later in the spring.
“That’s the penciled-in game plan,” said Jones.
