Homeland Security Sued Over Social Media Monitoring Records – Bloomberg Law


The U.S. Department of Homeland Security should process a records request and hand over documents related to its use of social media monitoring in immigration and naturalization work, a digital advocacy group argues.

The agency and its components, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, failed to respond in a timely manner to Freedom of Information Act requests, the Center for Democracy & Technology alleged in a lawsuit filed Jan. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
