Hollinger: Four big questions after the first weekend of NBA bubble action

After the first weekend of bubble action, it’s dangerous to start drawing sweeping conclusions.

I can already hear my readers saying “Hey, that never stopped you before.” But seriously, we can’t overreact too much to the small-sample theater of one or two games, even if it’s in the context of a season that will only last for eight.

However, it is fair to start asking whether the trends we’ve seen so far are likely to continue.

Let’s start at the top, because the two biggest stories continue to be off the court. First and most obviously, there’s question of whether the league’s “bubble” environment can keep the coronavirus at bay. Thus far the defenses have held, and they only need to make it four more weeks before we go down to 8 teams from 22.

That’s the biggest story here, and will be until the Finals (hopefully)…
