Grade 1 winner Restless Rider has been retired from racing and will visit leading sire Quality Road, owners Fern Circle Stables and Three Chimneys Farm announced Feb. 26.
The 4-year-old daughter of Distorted Humor out of Unbridled’s Song mare Silky Serenade, a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner and sire, Private Vow, retires with $897,160 in career earnings, having won or placed in seven of nine lifetime starts. Restless Rider was trained throughout her career by Kenny McPeek.
“She’s a really special filly and we’re proud of what she accomplished,” said Kenny McPeek. “Fern Circle winning their first Grade 1 while partnering with Three Chimneys team was great. I’m sure she will be a great broodmare as well. Her kind of talent is hard to find.”
One of the leading juveniles of her generation, the gray filly won the Grade 1 Alcibiades Stakes and the listed Debutante Stakes, while running second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, G1 Spinaway Stakes and G2 Golden Rod Stakes. At three, she placed in the G1 Ashland Stakes at Keeneland.
