Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry has officially been ruled out of Thursday’s Game 6 matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers because of a lingering hamstring injury.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra deemed Lowry day-to-day ahead of Game 5 on Tuesday and said he wouldn’t require an MRI.
Lowry initially injured his left hamstring in the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks, then re-aggravated it on a bizarre play against Philly in Game 4 of the conference semifinals last week.
The Heat have a 3-2 lead in the semifinal series, but the team will still have the big playmaker on the sidelines when they visit the Sixers on Thursday and try to advance to the conference finals. Philadelphia, on the other hand, will try to push the series to a Game 7 with big man Joel Embiid questionable to play.
Tipoff for Game 6 is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
