Harvey Barnes injury: Leicester forward out for at least six weeks

How was Barnes injured?

Barnes has been playing with a knee issue for the last few weeks after a piece of cartilage was broken in a clash during a game.

The issue didn’t stop him from playing, but he then felt the injury worsen as he chased a pass in the second half against Arsenal.

The 23-year-old was stretchered off as a precaution and will now undergo surgery to repair the damage, but could return before the end of the season.

What about Evans?

Evans has been playing with what Rodgers described as a ‘dead calf.’

Again, the medical staff have been managing the injury but he was forced to limp off late on against Arsenal.

Evans will now undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

How much of a blow is this to Leicester?

Rodgers is now down the barebones with Wes Morgan, James Justin, Wesley Fofana, Ayoze Perez, Dennis Praet and James Maddison already sidelined.

Leicester travel to Burnley on Wednesday and Brighton next Saturday.

What happened in the match?

Despite going behind in the sixth minute to a Youri Tielemans goal, Arsenal were comfortable 3-1 winners at the King Power Stadium.

David Luiz equalised after 39 minutes, and Alexandre Lacazette converted a penalty in first-half added time after a handball from Wilfred Ndidi.

Nicholas Pepe doubled Arsenal’s lead in the 52nd minute, and Rodgers’ side struggled to create any chances of note as they tried to get back into the game.
