Gulfstream’s Rainbow 6 Has $400,000 Guaranteed Jackpot On Thursday

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 will have a guaranteed pool of $400,000 Thursday after going unsolved to kick off Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth (G2) week Wednesday at Gulfstream Park.

One horse, 70-1 long shot Bellas Fella, was live to take down the jackpot heading into Wednesday’s 10th-race finale, won in front-running fashion by Friendly Fella ($9.80). Multiple tickets with all six winners each returned $4,601.18.

Thursday’s Rainbow 6 spans Races 5-10, three of them on the grass, attracting a total of 35 entries, an average of 11.6 starters per race. The popular multi-race wager has been solved three times during the 2019-20 Championship Meet, most recently for a $1.2 million payoff Feb. 17.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent in carried over to the jackpot pool.

First-race post time Thursday is 1 p.m.

Who’s Hot: Jockey Paco Lopez visited the winner’s circle twice Wednesday, aboard Golden Decision ($15.60) in Race 6 and Avenida Manana ($5) in Race 8.
