Gulfstream Park: Saturday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed At $200,000

Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $200,000 Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the second racing day in a row Friday, when tickets with all six winners were each worth $1,312.36.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Saturday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Race 6-11, which will include the featured 10th-race, a mile optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds and up. Ken McPeek-trained Harvey Wallbanger, the 2019 Holy Bull (G3) winner, will seek to make amends for a disappointing off-the-board finish in the Sea of Tranquility Stakes last time out. Tamara Levy-trained Quenane, who finished ahead of Harvey Wallbanger in the Sea of Tranquility, is slated to return to action Saturday, along with trainer Terri Pompay’s ultra-consistent Squeezadios.

There will also be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $3,486.10 heading into Saturday’s program, which gets under way at noon.

Note: Hot-riding Miguel Vasquez guided three horses into the Gulfstream winner’s circle Friday, scoring aboard Uncle Andrew ($4.20) in Race 1, Wise to Listen ($8.80) in Race 3 and Turn On The Magic ($12.40) in Race 4. Vasquez now ranks third in the Spring/Summer Meet jockey standings with 88 victories, seven behind leader Edgard Zayas and behind Emisael Jaramillo.
