In all seriousness, years ago, seemingly another lifetime for the Bulls, Joakim Noah used to rave about his guy “Billy D,” the coach who led Noah’s “Gator boys” to two consecutive national championships.
As much success as Noah had under Tom Thibodeau, I always assumed he would roll out the red carpet for Billy Donovan. Well, Noah will be available now that Donovan is the head coach for the Bulls. While that would be a good story if they reunited, I’m all about change.
It’s a strange world. The Bulls just completed a major upgrade of their front office and coaching staff and the NBA Finals haven’t even started yet. Donovan has no connections to Arturas Karnisovas or, seemingly, anyone else in the organization.
It’s almost as if the Bulls decided to abide by the Shakman…
