Gravitas Ventures has secured the North American rights to “Loud and Longing.”
The film was written by Sam Ellison, who also directs with Ryan Guiterman. It follows childhood best friends Lucy and Lucien as they are on the brink of hard-earned success in New York City’s competitive and chaotic arts scene. When their mysterious cousin Matt reemerges, unearthing dark childhood secrets, Lucy and Lucien must confront their addictions and a legacy of trauma in order to reclaim their art — and their lives.
The project stars Isabel Ellison, Sam Encarnación, Max Carpenter, Franco González and Ell Peck.
The film made its worldwide premiere at the Lighthouse International Film Festival. “Loud and Longing” was produced by Maria Palacio, Peck and Briar Robin Pollock. Executive producers are Sam Ellison, Ryan Guiterman, G.B. Ellison, Eric Guiterman, Diana Guiterman, Leron Guiterman, Sterling Milan and Sally Sullivan with cinematography by Vuk Lungulov-Klotz and Aidan Macaluso and music by Simon Taufique.
“Gravitas is proud to continue our collaboration with the remarkable filmmaking team of Sam Ellison and Ryan Guiterman,” said Gravitas’ senior VP of acquisitions and operations Bill Guentzler. “Their new feature Loud and Longing highlights the diversity of their storytelling talent by presenting a raw and honest story of dreamers striving to move forward with passion as their guide.”
“Gravitas has been an extraordinary partner for our first feature and we’re thrilled to continue to grow the relationship between us with our second film. This movie was a true labor of love, it’s like a twisted nightmare of Girls meets Requiem for a Dream, and we hope audiences will resonate with it,” said Sam Ellison and Ryan Guiterman.
“Loud and Longing” is Precariat Productions’ second feature film. The deal was negotiated between Bill Guentzler of Gravitas and RJ Millard of Obscured Pictures.
