Golf Pride Concept Helix grips let anyone quickly regrip a club

Over time, golf grips lose their effectiveness. The tackiness decreases as the grips become smooth, forcing you to hold the club tighter, which can rob speed, control and feel.

Taking your clubs to a shop and getting them regripped is simple, but you may be without your clubs for a day or two, and there typically is a charge for a shop to do the regripping. Doing the job yourself is not hard, assuming you have a few special tools, but most people don’t try it.

Golf Pride has just released a new grip and regripping system that allows golfers to regrip their clubs without specialized equipment. You don’t need a vice, a workbench, tools, solvents or tape. Best of all: After the new Concept Helix grip is applied, you can use the club immediately.

Usually when a technician regrips a club, the old grip is cut off, any old tape is removed and the shaft is cleaned. After applying new tape layers and wetting them with solvent, the new grip can be slid into place.

Golf Pride’s new Concept Helix grips skip the new tape and solvents, sliding directly onto a shaft using a red plastic horn. The new grip goes on the tapered end of the circular horn, then you insert the shaft into the other side of the tool, which is wider and open in one spot. After that, you pull the grip down into position. After the grip is in place, the tool easilycan be removed. Then, using the wide end of the horn, golfers can twist the end cap on the grip and tighten it into place.

Presto, your club is regripped and ready for play.

The Concept Helix grip is designed to feel similar to the popular Golf Pride Tour Velvet grip. It features a series of traction-enhancing elements to allow golfers to stay connected with the club without holding on too tightly.

The grips are $9.99 each (with the tool included), and there is a minimum of three grips per order.
