Golden Knights’ offense is clicking, defense has room for improvement at halfway point


The Golden Knights have reached the midway point of the 2021-22 season with a record of 24-15-2.

It’s good enough for first place in the Pacific Division, where Vegas has built up a five-point cushion over the Los Angeles Kings and a three-point lead over the Anaheim Ducks. That’s quite the feat, considering the injuries the Golden Knights have dealt with over the first four months of the season, but it’s also a bit misleading in terms of Vegas’ place in the entire NHL.

The Golden Knights’ .610 points percentage ranks 11th league-wide, and fifth in the Western Conference behind Colorado (.750), Minnesota (.671), St. Louis (.654) and Nashville (.631).
