Giannis’ numbers have regressed this season, but are the Bucks concerned?


Leading the NBA in offensive efficiency with 117.9 points per 100 possessions, the Bucks’ offense has never been stronger under head coach Mike Budenholzer.

With a different base scheme that puts a greater focus on offensive rebounding, Milwaukee is still excelling. And yet, Giannis Antetokounmpo, the NBA’s back-to-back most valuable player, is posting his worst numbers of the last three seasons.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 27 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game with an effective field goal percentage of 58.4 percent this season, which are still quite good. But those statistics are all lower than in his first two seasons with Budenholzer. On top of that, Antetokounmpo isn’t feeling as comfortable as he did in the team’s previous offensive scheme.
