After establishing their team as the league’s best during the 2019 regular season, Coach of the Year Mike Budenholzer and general manager Jon Horst faced some huge decisions following their conference finals loss to the Raptors. They had already inked 2017 acquisition Eric Bledsoe to a reasonable extension but key contributors Khris Middleton, Malcolm Brogdon, Brook Lopez and George Hill all hit free agency and bringing all of them back would be difficult, especially if ownership did not want to pay the luxury tax.
