GAMEDAY: U.S. to Face Canada in My Why Tour Tilt in Hartford


AT HOME IN HARTFORD

Team USA returns to a familiar place, Hartford, for the second game of the My Why Tour, presented by Toyota. The last time the U.S. Women’s National Team played at the XL Center, they defeated Canada, 4-1, in the first game of the 2019-20 Rivalry Series on Dec. 14, 2019. Nine U.S. players tallied a point, while Alex Cavallini(Delafield, Wis.) recorded 32 saves in net.

COMING HOME

Tonight’s tilt marks a homecoming for nine players and two assistant coaches with New England ties. Alex Carpenter (North Reading, Mass.), Kali Flanagan (Hudson, N.H.) and Caroline Harvey (Salem, N.H.) all grew up in the New England area, while Cayla Barnes (Eastvale, Calif.), Carpenter, Jesse Compher(Northbrook, Ill.), Kendall Coyne Schofield (Palos Heights, Ill.), Flanagan, Megan Keller (Farmington, Mich.) and Hayley Scamurra (Getzville, N.Y.) all attended college in Boston. Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho) attended high school at Choate Rosemary Hall, 27 miles from the XL Center. Assistant Coaches Brian Pothier(New Bedford, Mass.) and Courtney Kennedy (Wobrurn, Mass.) are from the area as well.
